Stride estimates what AI-referred traffic is worth using your business model, not a one-size-fits-all formula. An online store, a plumber, and a mobile app win in different ways, so Analytics values their visits differently and the product speaks in the matching language — orders, leads, installs, or bookings.
Where it's set
During onboarding, the confirm screen asks "How does a customer convert?" Stride pre-selects an answer from what it read on your site; correct it if it's off. You can change it any time in Site setup → Business model, along with the rates and values the estimate uses.
The six business models
| Model | A win is | Estimate formula |
|---|---|---|
| Ecommerce | An online order | AI visits × conversion rate × average order value |
| Lead gen | A qualified lead | AI visits × lead rate × lead value |
| SaaS / web app | A signup that converts | AI visits × signup rate × trial→paid × LTV |
| Mobile app (store install) | An app install | AI visits × store-click rate × store→install × value per install |
| Service business | A closed job | AI visits × close rate × average job value |
| Local business | A booking or visit | AI visits × booking rate × average job value |
How the estimate works
- GA4 is required — AI-referred sessions come from your GA4 connection, so the value ladder stays locked until it's connected and reporting sessions.
- Ecommerce prefers measured data. When GA4 reports purchases, Stride uses your site's measured conversion rate and average order value. Every other model uses the rates and values you enter in Site setup.
- Everything is labeled Estimate. The result is arithmetic on sitewide averages — AI-referred visitors may convert differently — so treat it as directional, not a revenue report.
Notes for specific business types
Mobile apps. If your site sends visitors to the App Store or Google Play,
the conversion happens off-site — so the measurable on-site event is the
outbound store click. When GA4's enhanced measurement is on (it tracks
outbound link clicks by default), Stride measures your store-click rate
automatically from clicks to apps.apple.com and play.google.com; the rate
you enter in Site setup is only used as a fallback. Your store→install rate
comes from your App Store or Play console.
Local businesses. Your wins often never touch the website — calls, directions, walk-ins. Enter the booking rate and average job value for the online share you can see, and expect the estimate to be a floor. The free audit also tests locally phrased questions ("best bakery in your city") when your site shows local intent, since that's how nearby customers actually ask AI for recommendations.
