Summary

Profound's pricing page now lists a free 7-day trial and custom Enterprise, so a team that wants to sign up and pay by card needs another tool. Peec AI is the closest self-serve match on measurement depth, Promptwatch pairs tracking with article drafting, and Stride fits small teams that want fixes drafted for them. Pick by what you valued most in Profound: the depth of its data, or the work it pointed you to.

Stride publishes this comparison and is one of the tools in it. Facts about Profound come from its own public pricing and product pages, checked on October 10, 2026, and are linked where they appear. Where another tool is the better choice, we say so.

Why do people look for Profound alternatives?

Mostly price visibility. As of October 2026, Profound's pricing page shows a free trial with 50 prompts run daily for seven days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, then custom Enterprise pricing. There is no paid self-serve tier with a listed price.

That suits the enterprise brands Profound sells to. Enterprise covers up to nine engines, unlimited seats, SSO, an API and all-time data history. Its developer docs show Agent Analytics setups for Cloudflare, Fastly, Akamai, Vercel, Shopify and more. Few tools match that depth.

If you need a number on a page before you talk to sales, or a budget under a few hundred dollars a month, the options below are the ones worth a trial.

How we evaluated

We looked for tools a buyer leaving Profound can start on without a sales call. Each one had to show a price on its own pricing page on October 10, 2026. We then ranked them by how much of Profound's job they cover for a self-serve team: engine coverage, prompt volume, data depth, and what the tool does with its findings.

Prices are monthly in US dollars unless noted. Stride's facts come from our pricing page.

Facts last verified October 10, 2026. Prices and plan limits change often; each vendor's pricing page is linked so you can check today's numbers.

1. Peec AI

Best for: SEO and analytics teams that want Profound-style measurement on a self-serve plan.

Peec is the closest like-for-like swap. Starter is $95 a month for 50 prompts tracked daily on any three models, from ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI. Every plan includes unlimited users. Pro is $245 for 150 prompts, Advanced is $495 for 350, and annual billing brings those to $80, $205 and $420.

Strengths: daily data, source analytics, prompt volume scores, and a Shopify or CSV catalog for product-level visibility. The pricing page lists an API, MCP and a Data Studio connector.

Limits: three models on standard plans; more cost extra each month. SSO and up to 13 models need Enterprise, which is sold annually through sales. Our Peec AI alternatives page covers where it falls short.

Price: from $95 a month on Peec's pricing page, as of October 2026.

2. Promptwatch

Best for: teams that want tracking and article drafting in one self-serve tool.

Promptwatch tracks four models per plan, chosen from a list that includes ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Claude, Gemini and Grok. Essential is $95 a month for 50 prompts and one seat. Professional is $245 for 150 prompts, Agent Analytics and five AEO articles a month. Business is $579 and adds shopping insights and city-level tracking.

Strengths: API and MCP listed on every plan, plus Agent Analytics and five articles a month from $245.

Limits: one seat at entry and two on Professional. The page's plan bullets and feature matrix disagree on whether API and MCP are live on every tier, so confirm before you buy.

Price: from $95 a month on Promptwatch's pricing page, as of October 2026.

3. Scrunch

Best for: teams that want five users and persona benchmarking at entry, with a path to Enterprise features.

Scrunch Core is $250 a month for 125 prompts and five users on ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews and Copilot. Enterprise expands to nine engines and adds AXP, a machine-readable version of your site for AI agents, plus an API and SAML SSO.

Strengths: five users and persona-level benchmarking on the entry plan, and AXP for teams headed to Enterprise.

Limits: four engines on Core, and the entry price is more than twice Peec's for fewer prompts. AXP, the API and SSO are Enterprise-only.

Price: Core $250 a month on Scrunch's pricing page, as of October 2026.

4. Stride

Best for: small teams and online stores that want each finding turned into a fix, with AI visits tied to revenue.

Stride is narrower than Profound on measurement and wider on what happens next. Every scan finding becomes an action item, and content gaps come with a draft grounded in your own scan evidence. The AI traffic view reads GA4 conversions and revenue for each AI source. Grow adds Brand Integrity, which flags false claims AI makes about you.

Stride's Action Items board with three prioritized fixes: product schema, a buying guide update and a brand claim correction

Stride's Action Items board, shown with sample data.

Strengths: fixes drafted on every plan (3 drafts a week on Starter, 25 or 100 a month on Grow and Scale), agent-commerce protocol checks that need no Shopify connection, and an Agency plan with per-client billing.

Limits: Starter tracks ChatGPT only, 25 prompts weekly. The widest plan covers four engines plus AI Overviews, with no Copilot or AI Mode. There is no API, MCP, SSO or SOC 2, so it won't suit a buyer whose security review requires them.

Price: Starter $99, Grow $349 ($279 annual), Scale $1,297 ($1,037 annual), as of October 2026. Our Stride vs Profound page goes deeper.

5. AthenaHQ

Best for: teams that want many engines and GA4 plus Shopify integrations at a fixed monthly price.

AthenaHQ is credit-based: one credit buys one AI response. The free Essential plan covers five engines with 300 credits. Starter is $295 a month for 3,600 credits across 11 engines, including AI Mode, Claude, Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral, with unlimited seats.

Strengths: the widest engine list on a self-serve plan in this group, plus GA4, Search Console, Shopify and Webflow integrations from Starter.

Limits: credits run down faster the more engines and prompts you schedule. Persona targeting, multiple countries and SSO are Enterprise-only.

Price: free, then $295 a month on AthenaHQ's pricing page, as of October 2026.

6. Otterly

Best for: solo marketers and small teams that want to start tracking for the least money.

Otterly's Lite plan is $29 a month for 15 prompts on ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot. Standard is $189 for 100 prompts and adds API and MCP access. Gemini, AI Mode and Claude are paid add-ons on every tier.

Strengths: the lowest entry price in this group and four engines included from day one, Copilot among them.

Limits: 15 prompts is a sample, not a market view. Claude costs $29 to $439 a month extra depending on plan.

Price: from $29 a month on Otterly's pricing page, as of October 2026.

How to switch without losing your baseline

  1. Export before access ends. Pull your prompt list, competitor list and the last few weeks of results from Profound while your trial or contract is live.
  2. Rebuild the same prompt set. Load the exact prompts into the new tool. Changing prompts and tools at once makes every trend line meaningless.
  3. Match engines. Compare only the engines both tools track. A score across nine engines won't line up with a score across four.
  4. Run both for two to four weeks. AI answers vary from run to run, so one scan proves little. Watch the direction of travel, not the absolute number.
  5. Reset the baseline on purpose. Once the new tool's numbers are stable, record that week as your new starting point and tell stakeholders why the figures moved.
