Summary
Profound is the stronger platform for enterprise brands: up to nine answer engines, prompt-volume data, ChatGPT Shopping, log-based agent analytics and the security paperwork procurement asks for. Stride fits the teams Profound no longer sells a brand plan to, with published prices from $99 a month, a free audit, action items with drafts where the fix is content, and AI visits tied to revenue in GA4. If you have a procurement team, start with Profound; if you have a credit card and a small team, look at Stride.
Stride publishes this comparison and is one of the tools in it. Facts about Profound come from its own public pricing and product pages, checked on October 10, 2026, and are linked where they appear. Where another tool is the better choice, we say so.

Who is each tool built for?
Profound is an enterprise company now, and a well-funded one. It announced a $180 million Series D at a $1.8 billion valuation on September 15, 2026, and says it serves more than 1,000 enterprise brands. Its pricing page reflects that: a free trial and a "Custom" Enterprise plan, with no published self-serve tier for brands.
Stride is built for the buyer that leaves behind. A founder, a two-person marketing team or an agency can see every price, start on a card and run a first scan the same day. That doesn't make Stride the better product for a Fortune 500 brand. It makes it one you can buy without a sales call.
Which tracks more AI engines?
Profound, by a wide margin. Enterprise covers up to nine answer engines, including Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek and Exa Search, with custom languages and regions. The trial covers three: ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews.
Stride's Starter plan tracks ChatGPT only. Grow adds Gemini and Claude (still in beta), plus Google AI Overviews on the first 15 prompts you add. Scale adds Perplexity and full AI Overviews. Stride doesn't track Copilot, AI Mode, Grok, Meta AI or DeepSeek, so if those engines matter to your buyers, Profound wins on that alone.
What does each cost?
Stride's prices are public. Starter is $99 a month for 25 prompts scanned weekly on ChatGPT. Grow is $349, or $279 billed annually, for 50 prompts three times a week on three engines. Scale is $1,297, or $1,037 annually, for 300 prompts daily on four engines plus full AI Overviews, across three sites.
Profound doesn't publish an Enterprise price; its account team sets prompts and credits per customer. We won't guess at a number. Plan for a sales process, which is normal at the enterprise end and a real obstacle for a team that wants to start this week.
What does each do after it measures?
Both tools now go past the dashboard. Profound's AI Marketer is an agent that reads AI answers, finds opportunities and deploys sub-agents, fed by a Context Manager that holds your brand knowledge. Profound also lists a FactCheck feature alongside sentiment.
Stride's version is narrower and built around evidence. Every scan finding becomes an action item, and where the fix is content, Stride drafts the page or the edit from the answers and sources in your own scans. Later scans show whether the prompt moved, which the action items and proof guide walks through. Brand Integrity, on Grow and up, flags false claims AI makes about you and routes each one into the same list.
Which shows what AI traffic is worth?
They measure it from different ends. Profound's Agent Analytics reads server and CDN logs from sources including AWS, Akamai, Cloudflare, Fastly, Vercel and Shopify. It shows which AI bots crawl your pages, says it separates real crawlers from spoofed ones, and counts human visitors who convert from AI search. That is the deeper crawler view.
Stride reads Google Analytics 4. The AI traffic view shows sessions, conversions and revenue for each AI source, so you can put a dollar figure next to ChatGPT or Perplexity in a monthly report. Stride has crawler logs too, but only as a beta on Scale and Agency.

Which is better for agencies?
Profound lists an Agency Growth plan as self-serve, with 400 credits a month per client workspace. Its pricing page doesn't show the price, so you will need to ask.
Stride Agency is a $499 monthly platform fee plus a Starter, Grow or Scale plan for each client at a discount, on one invoice. Team seats are unlimited, clients get their own logins with view-only or edit access, and branding carries across the dashboard and reports. If a client takes the work in-house, their site and history move to their own account. The agency page covers the model.

Two quick scenarios
A director of SEO at a global retailer. They need nine engines, several regions, ChatGPT Shopping and an SSO login their security team will approve. Profound fits, and a sales process is how their company buys anyway.
A founder-led DTC brand with two marketers. No procurement team, and a board asking whether AI search sells anything. Stride fits: Grow covers ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude, drafts the content fixes, and ties AI visits to revenue in GA4. The Profound alternatives page covers the options in between.
