Summary
Otterly is the better buy if you want to watch AI visibility cheaply: $29 a month tracks 15 prompts daily on four engines, every plan has unlimited team members, and Standard adds an API and MCP. Stride costs more per prompt and earns it on the step after monitoring, turning findings into action items with drafted content and reporting what AI visits earn in GA4. Solo marketers and analysts who need data will usually prefer Otterly; teams that need the fixes done and proven should look at Stride.
Stride publishes this comparison and is one of the tools in it. Facts about Otterly come from its own public pricing and product pages, checked on October 10, 2026, and are linked where they appear. Where another tool is the better choice, we say so.

What does a prompt cost on each?
Otterly wins on raw tracking. Lite works out to under $2 a prompt a month, tracked daily on four engines. Stride Starter is about $4 a prompt, scanned weekly on one engine.
The mid tier is the fairer test. To match the engines on Stride Grow, you'd add Gemini ($59) and Claude ($109) to Otterly Standard, for $357 a month. That buys 100 prompts tracked daily on six engines, against Stride Grow's 50 prompts three times a week on three engines plus AI Overviews on the first 15 prompts you add, at $349. If your budget line is "monitoring", Otterly gives you about twice the prompts and more engines for the same money.
So ask if you need what Stride's price also pays for.
What does each do with what it finds?
Otterly's job is to show you where you stand and point the way. You get the Brand Visibility Index, citation analysis, GEO audits of your URLs, recommendations (three a week on Lite, unlimited above it) and content briefs. Someone on your team takes it from there.
Stride's job is to hand you the next piece of work. Every scan finding becomes an action item. Where the fix is content, Stride drafts the page or the edit from the answers and sources in your own scans, and later scans show whether the prompt moved. The action items and proof guide shows the full loop.

Stride also checks the accuracy of what AI says about you. Brand Integrity, on Grow and up, flags false or unsupported claims and explains which source evidence is missing. Otterly's pricing page doesn't list an equivalent.
Which tracks more AI engines?
Otterly. ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot come on every plan, Lite included. Gemini, Google AI Mode and Claude are add-ons, priced by tier: Gemini and AI Mode cost $9 a month each on Lite and $149 each on Premium, and Claude runs from $29 to $439.
Stride's Starter plan tracks ChatGPT only. Grow adds Gemini and Claude (still in beta), plus Google AI Overviews on the first 15 prompts you add. Scale adds Perplexity and full AI Overviews. Stride doesn't track Copilot or AI Mode at all, and Copilot comes standard on Otterly.
Which shows what AI traffic is worth?
Stride, if you mean money. Its AI traffic view reads Google Analytics 4 and reports sessions, conversions and revenue for each AI source. That is the number a founder or CFO asks for.
Otterly's Agent Analytics, on Standard and up, sits at your server, edge or CDN. It identifies AI crawlers such as OAI-SearchBot and PerplexityBot, separates AI referral visitors from bot fetches, and shows which URLs AI systems fetch. Otterly says it runs alongside GA4; its pages don't mention conversions or revenue.

Which fits a team that builds its own reports?
Otterly. Standard includes API and MCP access with 2,000 requests a month, Premium 5,000, plus a Looker Studio connector. Its API documentation covers brand reports, prompts, citations and agent analytics data. Stride has no public API or MCP server, so if your reporting lives in a warehouse or Looker, that decides it.
Which is better for agencies?
It depends on what you sell. Otterly's Agency Partner program runs on Standard or Premium, with unlimited workspaces, pitch workspaces for prospects, branded Looker Studio reports and single billing. With unlimited team members on every plan, it's a cheap way to monitor many brands.
Stride Agency is a $499 monthly platform fee plus a Starter, Grow or Scale plan for each client at a discount, with unlimited seats, client logins, white-label branding and account transfer when a client leaves. It suits agencies that sell the fixes as a retainer.

Two quick scenarios
A freelance SEO consultant with six small clients. They need cheap daily tracking, unlimited logins and data they can pipe into Looker Studio. Otterly fits, and Lite or Standard covers it for a fraction of the cost.
A marketing lead at a mid-size DTC brand. They have a monthly AI search target and no writer to spare. Stride fits: Grow drafts the content fixes, Brand Integrity catches wrong claims, and GA4 shows whether AI visitors bought. For other options, see the Otterly alternatives page.
