When a client is ready to run Stride themselves, transfer their site to them. It becomes the client's own account, with its prompts, scans and content intact.
Overview / What it is
An account transfer moves one client site out of your Agency account and into a new Stride account the client owns. The client pays the standard price for the site's current plan with their own card, monthly or annually. Nothing moves until they pay.
When to use it
Use it when a client wants to take Stride in house, or you are ending the engagement but the client wants to keep their data. To stop working on a site without keeping its data, delete the client instead.
How to use it
- In Manage accounts, open the ⋯ menu on the client's row and choose Transfer account. You need to be the account owner or have billing access.
- Enter the client's email and send the link. The link works for 14 days.
- The client opens the link, signs in with that email, chooses monthly or annual billing and pays.
- Stride moves the site, usually within a few minutes. You and the client each get an email when it is done.
Until the client pays, you can open Transfer account again to see where it stands, or cancel it. After they pay, the move cannot be cancelled.
What moves and what stays
- Moves to the client: prompts, topics, competitors, scan history, content, the knowledge base, brand settings, and the site's Shopify, WordPress and crawler log connections. Unused prepaid credits bought for the site go with it. Plan allowance the site carried over from earlier months doesn't move; the client's own plan starts its allowance fresh.
- Stays with you: your branded reports, your team's private notes in Agent, and your usage history. A Reddit account you connected is disconnected.
- Google Analytics and Search Console keep working. The client is asked to reconnect them under their own Google login.
- The share link you gave out for the site stops working.
Billing
- The site's plan and its add-ons come off your Agency invoice when the move completes. Stripe credits you for the unused part of the month.
- The client pays the standard price, not your agency rate.

FAQ / Troubleshooting
The client didn't get the email. Ask them to check spam. If it still isn't there, cancel the transfer and send it again.
Can the client move the site into an account they already have? Not yet. A transfer always creates a new account for the site.
Can I get the site back? Not through a transfer. The client can invite you to their account as a teammate.
