Invite someone to your Stride account, what members can do, and how seats work.

On this page

Invite a colleague or agency by email so they can do the work on your account without seeing invoices or changing the plan.

Overview / What it is

Shared access lets the account owner invite another person as a member. The member uses their own login. They can run scans, manage sites, and work in Actions. They cannot open the Stripe billing portal, buy add-ons, or change white-label branding.

Pending invites hold a seat until they expire (14 days), are accepted, or you revoke them.

When to use it

Use this when an agency or teammate needs to operate the account, and you want to keep billing with the owner. Site-by-site permissions and extra admin roles are not part of this yet — every member can work on every site in the account.

How to use it

  1. Sign in as the owner and open Account.
  2. In Team access, enter the person's email and send the invite.
  3. They open the email, sign in (or create a login) with that same address, and accept.
  4. To free a seat, revoke a pending invite or remove a member from the same list. You cannot remove or demote the owner.

If you belong to more than one account, use Choose an account after sign-in or switch accounts from the sidebar account menu.

Definitions

  • Owner — the one person who pays, sees invoices, and manages seats.
  • Member — invited access. Same product work, no billing controls.
  • Seat — one person on the account, including the owner. A pending invite counts as a seat until it expires or is revoked.

Best practices

  • Invite the email they actually use to sign in. Accepting with a different address is refused.
  • Revoke unused invites instead of letting them sit against the seat cap.
  • If the subscription lapses, members see a renewal message — only the owner can pay.

Plan & limits

Seats are included in the plan. Starter has 2, Grow has 3, Scale has 5. Agency seats follow client sites: owner + one seat per site (sites + 1). Extra Agency client sites add seats; Grow's extra-site add-on does not.

There is no self-serve extra-seat product yet. If you are at the cap, remove someone or revoke a pending invite.

FAQ / Troubleshooting

I invited someone and they still can't get in.
They must sign in with the invited email and accept before the 14-day expiry. Ask them to check spam, or resend from Account → Team access.

Do members use their own scan credits?
No. Work spends the account's shared pools (scans, prompts, competitors, content, Ask Stride, sites). Seats are the only per-person cap.

Can I transfer ownership?
Not yet. There is exactly one owner.
