Summary

Brandlight is the better fit for a Fortune 500 marketing organization: it sells through sales, covers many brands and regions in one view, adds modules for publishers, AI ads and AI shopping, and states SOC 2 Type II compliance. Stride fits small marketing teams, online stores and agencies that want to buy today at a listed price, get each finding turned into a drafted fix, and see AI visits tied to revenue in GA4. If you have a procurement team, start with Brandlight; if you have a credit card and a short list of fixes to ship, start with Stride.

Stride publishes this comparison and is one of the tools in it. Facts about Brandlight come from its own public pricing and product pages, checked on October 13, 2026, and are linked where they appear. Where another tool is the better choice, we say so.

Can I buy either one today?

Stride, yes. Pick a plan on the pricing page, enter a card, and the 7-day trial starts. Starter is $99 a month for 25 prompts scanned weekly on ChatGPT. Grow is $349 a month, or $279 billed annually, for 50 prompts three times a week on ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude (beta), with Google AI Overviews on the first 15 prompts you add.

Brandlight runs a sales-led process. Every call to action on its site is "Get a demo" or "Contact Sales", there is no pricing page, and the company describes its customers as Fortune 500 leaders and global CMOs. That is a normal way to sell to enterprises, and Profound now works the same way (see Stride vs Profound). It also means you can't size the cost before the first call.

Which tracks more AI engines?

Probably Brandlight, but it doesn't publish the list. Its site calls the platform "engine agnostic", and its product screenshots show ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, Grok and Google AI. Copilot and Grok are two engines Stride doesn't track at all.

Stride's coverage depends on plan. Starter tracks ChatGPT only. Grow adds Gemini, Claude (still in beta) and Google AI Overviews on the first 15 prompts you add. Scale adds Perplexity and full AI Overviews, and tracks 300 prompts with the top 100 scanned daily. Stride doesn't track Copilot, Google AI Mode, Grok, Meta AI or DeepSeek. If your buyers use Copilot at work, ask Brandlight to show it in the demo.

What does each one do after it measures?

Both tools try to move you past a dashboard. They do it at different scales.

Brandlight splits the work into modules for separate teams. Content analyzes your pages and tells writers what to produce. Technical Health tracks which AI crawlers reach your site and analyzes raw server logs. Partnerships shows which publishers shape AI answers in your category, so PR and partnership budgets go where they count. Ads tracks paid placements inside AI answers. Its site also promises white-glove support and hands-on AI strategists.

Stride puts everything into one worklist. Every scan finding becomes an action item. Where the fix is content, Stride drafts the page or the edit from the answers and sources in your own scans: 3 drafts a week on Starter, 25 a month on Grow, 100 on Scale. Your team reviews and publishes, and later scans show whether the prompt moved.

Which shows what AI visits are worth?

Today, Stride. Connect Google Analytics 4 and the AI traffic view shows sessions, conversions and revenue for each AI source, on every plan. That is the number a founder or CFO asks for first.

As of October 2026, Brandlight lists Attribution as "coming soon" in its product menu, described as measuring what AI visibility does for revenue. Its technical module already shows which AI crawlers and agents visit your site, which is a different question: who is reading your pages, not what the visits earned.

Which is better for AI shopping?

For a large retailer or brand selling across marketplaces, Brandlight. Its Agentic Commerce module tracks product visibility in AI shopping results, the queries that trigger shopping experiences, and competing retailers and reviews.

Stride asks whether an AI shopping agent can read and buy from your store. AI Readiness crawls any site and checks it against agent-commerce protocols such as ACP, UCP and x402, and each gap becomes an action item. Stride's Shopify catalog sync and commerce readiness launch with its Shopify App Store listing. Until then, Stride doesn't track products one by one.

Which is better for agencies?

It depends on your clients. Brandlight's agency program is for agencies that serve global brands: it co-pitches with partners, the agency runs and bills the work, and it says it is expanding the group selectively.

Stride Agency is a $499 monthly platform fee plus a Starter, Grow or Scale plan per client at a discount, on one invoice. Team seats are unlimited, clients get their own logins, white-label branding carries across the dashboard and reports, and account transfer moves a client's site and history into their own account if they leave. That suits an agency selling AI visibility to mid-market clients as a retainer. The agency page covers the model.

When is Brandlight the better choice?

  • You run marketing for a large company with many brands or regions and want one view across all of them.
  • Your security team needs SOC 2 Type II before anything gets connected.
  • You want publisher and partnership data to guide PR spend, or you buy ads inside AI answers.
  • You sell across retailers and marketplaces and need product visibility in AI shopping now.
  • You want strategists working alongside your team, not only software.

When is Stride the better choice?

  • You want to start this week at a listed price, from $99 a month.
  • You need to show what AI visits earn, with GA4 conversions and revenue per AI source.
  • You want findings turned into drafted pages, with later scans showing whether they worked.
  • You run an agency and want per-client plans you can resell, with a clean handoff when a client leaves.
  • You want AI's false claims about you flagged: Brand Integrity on Grow and up.

Stride's limits matter here. It tracks fewer engines, has no SSO, SOC 2 or API, and covers one site on Starter and Grow.

Two quick scenarios

A global consumer goods company with twelve brands. The CMO wants one view across brands and regions, procurement requires SOC 2, and the partnerships team wants to know which publishers shape AI answers. Brandlight fits: enterprise HQ view, a security posture that clears review, and modules for each team.

A five-person marketing team at a regional furniture retailer. They need to know whether ChatGPT and Gemini recommend them, and they need pages written to close the gaps. Stride fits: Grow tracks 50 prompts three times a week, drafts the fixes, and GA4 shows whether AI visitors bought.
